All information contained in the NRAC listing is up-to-date and organized to give you the immediate information you need in critical recalls. The alert consists of products of concern to you as well as each of your department heads, including pharmacy, purchasing, laboratory, materials, management, nursing, radiology and safety. IS NOT SACRIFICED BECAUSE NATIONAL RECALL ALERT CENTER IS IMMEDIATE! NRAC is the only non-profit organization providing a complete compilation of recalled products; there is no faster or more immediate way to receive this written, compiled warning information. You will receive Warning Alerts for hazard conscious, preventive oriented hospitals every 7 to 10 days throughout your network membership. YOU AND YOUR HOSPITAL WILL BE PROTECTED BECAUSE NATIONAL RECALL ALERT CENTER BRINGS TO YOUR ATTENTION HUNDREDS OF CRITICAL AND POTENTIALLY HARMFUL PRODUCT RECALLS ANNUALLY, AND IT GIVES YOU SPECIFICS Lack of essential recall information can be a serious problem. By taking the initiative to join the NRAC network, you will be informed of specific lot numbers of those products being recalled, specific states where the products are believed to be located, specific manufacturers of the recalled products and specific reasons for the recall. FROM A PURELY LEGAL STANDPOINT ... Your concern and intent to be kept abreast promptly of potentially hazardous and/or defective products is demonstrated by being a network member of the Warning Alert Service. YOUR ROLE AS A PARTICIPANT IN THE NATIONAL RECALL ALERT CENTER WARNING SERVICE Is to determine one individual at your facility who will be the Recall Coordinator. The Recall Coordinator is responsible for receiving the Warning Alerts from NRAC and routing the listings to all areas and department heads, and insuring that all recalled products found in your facility are removed from use. IT IS IMPORTANT TO UNDERSTAND ... That because of complicated channels of distribution, suppliers and
manufacturers are sometimes unable to identify the end location of their products.
This is especially true of products which are sold through dealers. This is but one
reason membership in the Warning Alert Network is vital. AS FAR AS RESPONSIBILITY IS CONCERNED ... To quote Dr. Alexander Schmidt, former Commissioner of the Food and Drug Administration, "If a product causes injury, all concerned can be held liable." NO OTHER PRIVATE SOURCE ... Specifically publishes and disseminates complete, compiled product warning alerts and no other private source makes available product recall listings at the frequency and speed of National Recall Alert Center.
